Medicare Part D Spending by Drug
The drugs Medicare pays for the most, and whether their prices are going up or down. This data shows which medications consumed the biggest chunks of Medicare's drug budget between 2019 and 2023, how many people took each drug, how many prescriptions were filled, and what the average cost was per prescription. You can see which drugs had the steepest price increases over this period and which ones are used by the most beneficiaries. If you've ever wondered whether expensive specialty drugs dominate Medicare's budget or if common medications add up to more, this answers it.
