Medicaid Spending by Drug
Medicare gets all the attention, but Medicaid actually pays for more prescription drugs in America. This data shows what the government spends on each drug through Medicaid, from insulin to antibiotics. You'll see the brand name, the generic equivalent, who makes it, how many times it was prescribed, and the total bill. Medicaid has rules that force drug makers to give rebates, so prices here look different than what Medicare pays. If you want to understand drug pricing in America, you have to look at Medicaid spending. This is where the real volume is.
