Medicaid Opioid Prescribing Rates by Geography
Some states prescribe opioids far more than others, and this data shows exactly how much more. You can see which states are higher or lower than the national average, whether prescribing is going up or down, and whether the problem is bigger in programs where doctors bill per visit (FFS) versus managed insurance plans. It covers both regular opioids and the stronger long-acting versions, so you can track both categories separately.
