Texas Public School District Finance (PEIMS)
Budget versus reality for Texas schools. When a school district adopts a budget at the start of the year, that's one number. What they actually spend is often different. This dataset shows both the budgets districts planned and the audited amounts they actually spent, going back to 1999. You can see where money went (instruction, administration, transportation), what type of money (general fund, federal grants), and whether districts overspent or underspent their plans. It's useful for spotting spending patterns, comparing districts, or tracking how a specific school's finances have changed over time.
