US Utility Debt, Equity & Rate-of-Return Financials
Electric utilities borrow money and raise capital to build power plants and infrastructure. Regulators set rules about how much debt and equity each utility can use, and what return on that equity they're allowed to earn. This dataset shows you the actual numbers for each utility: how much debt and equity they carry, what they're allowed to earn, what they actually earned, and what their customers are paying for. It's the financial backbone of how electricity rates are determined.
