NCES Private School Universe Survey (PSS)
Unlike the public school census, which focuses on enrollment and district operations, this dataset maps every private school in America and who attends them. You get the basic facts: how many students, what grades they serve, whether it's religious or secular, where it's located on a map, and how many teachers staff it. If you're trying to understand private school capacity in a region, identify gaps in private education options, or compare private vs. public school enrollments by race and religion, this is your primary source. The data updates every two years.
