CPI: Food and Beverages
Ever notice your grocery bill going up? This tracks food and drink prices going back to 1967. Instead of raw dollars, it shows price changes as an index number. If the number goes from 200 to 210, that's roughly a 5% increase in what you'd pay for food. You can use this to see if food inflation was worse in one year versus another, or compare food prices now to any point in the past 50+ years.
