State Population (Decennial Census)

How many people lived in each state in 1790? In 1900? Today? This dataset answers that for every decade going back to the first census. It also shows how fast states grew between censuses and how many seats they get in Congress based on population. If you've ever wondered why some states have more representatives than others, or how much a state has grown over two centuries, this is where that data lives.
