Census Household Pulse Survey (HPS)

Imagine surveying tens of thousands of American households every few weeks and asking them: Are you caught up on rent or mortgage? Have you had to skip meals to pay your electric bill? Where do your kids go to school? This survey does exactly that. The Census Bureau collects these snapshots regularly so policymakers can see how households are struggling or managing right now, not months or years later. Each person's answer is weighted so the results reflect the whole country, not just who happened to fill out the survey.
