Texas WARN Act Layoff Notices

Unlike general unemployment numbers that measure joblessness month-to-month, this dataset tracks the big layoffs that send shockwaves through a community. When a company cuts 100 or more jobs in one place, federal law requires them to notify workers and the government. This is that notification log for Texas. You can see which companies laid off workers, where it happened, and when. It's most useful for spotting major economic disruptions and understanding which industries or regions have been hit hardest over the past 30 years.
