Florida Department of Education
GovernmentFlorida's education agency collects and publishes data on student achievement, school performance, and institutional accountability across the state's K-12 and higher education systems. They release standardized test scores, graduation rates, college readiness metrics, and school grades that feed into the state's accountability system. The data covers public schools, charter schools, and district-level performance trends.

Florida Public School Grades
Florida gives every public school a letter grade each year, kind of like a report card. The grade depends on how well students do on tests, whether low-performing kids are improving, graduation rates, and how many students are getting ready for college or career. This dataset has those grades for every school from 2014 to 2024. It matters right now because Florida just passed a major law in 2023 that sends a lot of public school funding to private schools instead, and this data will show whether that change affected public school performance.
Florida Public School Enrollment by Grade
This shows how many students are in each grade in Florida's public schools, for every district and the state as a whole. You can see year by year how kindergarten through 12th grade enrollment changed from 2016 to 2026. The data is interesting because Florida's voucher program expanded in 2023 (HB1), so you can compare enrollment before and after that change to see which grades lost the most students to private schools or other programs.
Florida Federal Cohort Graduation Rates
How many students graduate on time from each Florida public school, broken down by demographic group. The data covers before and after the state's huge voucher expansion in spring 2023, so you can see if public school graduation rates changed when thousands of students got the option to leave for private schools. Includes students by race, gender, income level, language barriers, and disability status. When a number is really small (under 10 kids), it gets flagged so you know not to read too much into it.
Florida FAST Assessment Scores (District Level)
Unlike the old FSA test, Florida switched to FAST in 2023. This shows how many kids in each district passed (scored Level 3 or higher) in reading and math, broken down by grade. You get the full picture, not just pass/fail, with data on how many hit each performance level. Private schools aren't included. Fair warning: you can't directly compare these numbers to pre-2023 results since the test and scoring changed completely.
Florida FSA Assessment Scores (District Level)
How well did Florida students do on standardized tests? This shows what percentage of kids in each school district scored at grade level or better in reading and math, year by year from 2016 to 2022. It's useful for tracking whether districts improved over time, and it serves as a snapshot of academic performance before Florida made major changes to school choice and testing programs.
Florida Public School Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity
How many Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, and other students are enrolled in each Florida school district year by year. This data lets you see if enrollment is growing or shrinking by group, and track how the expansion of Florida's school choice programs (like scholarships to private schools) has affected public school enrollment. You get nine years of numbers right down to individual districts, so you can compare your area to the state as a whole.
