TEFA Awards by School District
Student applications awarded in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program by school district, as of the 100K milestone (June 9, 2026). TEFA is the Texas school-voucher (education savings account) program created by Senate Bill 2 (2025) and administered by the Texas Comptroller. Total applications awarded at this date: 102,037, with 144,744 eligible students remaining on the waitlist. "Awards" is a broader measure than "participants": an awarded student has been selected for funding but may not yet have accepted the award, enrolled in a school, or had their account funded. The companion dataset participants-by-district shows the narrower funded-participant count from the later Annual Demographic Report (July 29, 2026). This dataset covers 347 of the districts with 30 or more awarded applications. Districts below that threshold are omitted for student privacy.
