Retail Sales

Every month, the government adds up sales at stores across the country to see if people are spending more or less money. This number comes out quickly and tells you a lot about whether the economy is doing well or struggling. When people buy more stuff, it's usually a sign things are looking good. When sales drop, it might mean people are worried about their jobs or have less money to spend.
