Births and Fertility Rate by State (NCHS)
How many babies were born in each state, and at what rate. Fertility rate is births per 1,000 women of childbearing age (15-44), so it lets you compare whether births are going up or down across different states and years, even when state populations differ. This is the official count from birth certificates, not estimates.
