Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS)

This dataset tracks what's happening in the job market from the employer side. It shows how many job openings are available each month, how many people companies are hiring, and how many are leaving their jobs (whether by quitting, getting laid off, or other reasons). If unemployment tells you how many people are out of work, JOLTS tells you how many jobs are sitting empty waiting to be filled and how fast people are moving between jobs. The data breaks down by industry, so you can see where companies are desperate to hire and where they're cutting back.
