Austin ISD Campus Capacity & Utilization
Austin ISD posted data on all 119 schools showing how many students each can hold, how many are actually enrolled now and expected in 2027, and condition scores for the buildings. Schools get a consolidation risk score that combines three things: whether the building is in decent shape, how much it costs to run, and whether seats are being used efficiently. The district also built in a fairness adjustment so that schools serving poorer neighborhoods don't get penalized with higher risk scores just because they're smaller or older. If you're wondering which schools might close, merge, or change attendance boundaries, this score is what the district is using to figure that out.
