AHA Costs of Caring Report
Hospitals are getting squeezed financially. This dataset shows where the money goes and what's putting pressure on budgets. You'll see trends on staff costs rising, insurance companies denying claims or requiring prior approval before procedures (which costs hospitals money to fight), Medicare paying less than the actual cost of care, and drug prices. It's data hospitals use to explain why they say they're struggling, and what policymakers look at when deciding how to reform healthcare payments.
